Privacy Policy for JoyFlight

Effective Date: June 25, 2025
Last Updated: June 21, 2026

Introduction

Your privacy matters to us, and we want to be clear about what happens with your data while you play JoyFlight. This Privacy Policy explains our approach to data collection and processing for JoyFlight on Meta Quest platforms.

Tonic Games Australia built the JoyFlight app as a commercial app. This SERVICE is provided by Tonic Games Australia and is intended for use as is.

This page is used to inform users regarding our policies on the collection, use, and processing of personal information and other user data in connection with JoyFlight, in compliance with the Meta Horizon Developer Data Use Policy and applicable privacy laws.

Data We Collect and Access

JoyFlight is designed to minimize data collection. The sections below describe, in full, every category of data the app accesses or processes.

Username (Meta Horizon User Data)

JoyFlight accesses your Meta Quest username to display player names during multiplayer sessions. This data:

Headset and Controller Tracking Data (Device User Data)

Like most VR applications, JoyFlight uses standard headset and controller position and movement tracking (e.g., spatial position, orientation, and controller input) to enable core gameplay, such as flight controls and in-game movement. This tracking data:

JoyFlight does not access hand tracking, eye tracking, facial expression data, or any camera/microphone sensor data.

What JoyFlight Does Not Collect

Advertising ID

JoyFlight does not display advertising and does not access, collect, or use the Advertising ID for any purpose.

Analytics and Third-Party SDKs

JoyFlight does not use any analytics SDKs, crash-reporting tools, or third-party tracking technologies. No gameplay or usage data is collected by us or transmitted to any analytics provider.

Data Processing and Storage

Our Servers: We do not process or store any personal data on our own servers. The only user data JoyFlight interacts with (your username) is accessed temporarily from Meta's systems and is never written to storage we control.

Meta's Servers: All user profile data, including usernames, is stored and managed by Meta. We only access the minimum information necessary (your username) to enable multiplayer functionality.

Cloud Saves

JoyFlight may support cloud save functionality as part of the Meta Quest platform. Any cloud saves are managed by Meta, and Meta's privacy policy covers any data associated with this feature. For details on how Meta handles this data, please refer to Meta's Privacy Policy.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share user data with third parties. We do not have a mechanism to do so, since the only data JoyFlight accesses (your username) is never stored or processed by us beyond temporary display during multiplayer sessions.

Service Providers

We do not currently engage any third-party service providers to process, analyze, or otherwise handle user data on our behalf in connection with JoyFlight. If this changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly before any such engagement begins.

Data Deletion

JoyFlight does not store personal data on our servers, so there is generally nothing for us to delete on our end. If you have any questions or concerns about data handling, please contact us at nicholas.schubert@tonicgamesaustralia.com.

For data stored by Meta (such as your username or cloud saves), please refer to Meta's data deletion procedures in their privacy policy and your Meta account settings.

Security

Because we do not store personal data on our own servers, the risk of a data breach affecting that data on our end is minimal. Headset and controller tracking data is processed locally on-device and is never transmitted by us. Username data accessed during multiplayer sessions remains on Meta's secured servers at all times.

If you discover a security vulnerability in JoyFlight, please report it to us at nicholas.schubert@tonicgamesaustralia.com, and we will address it promptly.

Children's Privacy

JoyFlight is not directed to anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Links to Other Sites

This Service does not contain links to other sites. The Meta Quest platform itself may contain links to other services, which are governed by their own respective privacy policies.

International Users

JoyFlight is developed by Tonic Games Australia and may be used by players worldwide. By using our Service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any changes by:

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

Because JoyFlight collects and stores very limited data on our own servers, most of these rights are inherently satisfied by our minimal-collection design. For data managed by Meta (such as your username or cloud saves), these rights are exercised through your Meta account settings. For any other questions about your rights, please contact us.
